About

The CLN is based on a collaboration among UBC Faculties of Education, Land and Food Systems and the Alma Mater Society (AMS).

Step outside and learn

CLN gardens offer the opportunity to experience honeybee hives, field and gathering spaces, experimental garden plots, mathematical sculpture projects, the Chinese Market Garden project, second growth forest, a cob (natural) building, a kitchen and food processing spaces, fruit tree orchards, and mushroom cultivation areas as learning sites.

Real world teaching, learning, and research informed by gardens

The CLN invites faculty, staff, and students to engage in teaching, learning, and research with our garden sites and communities.

CLN programs include:

• The Intergenerational Landed Learning Project at UBC Farm

• The UBC Orchard Garden at Totem Field

• Roots on the Roof in the Nest Rooftop
